Fell & Sell save file fix: which patch covers your bug
Between Aug 29, 10:39 UTC and Aug 30, 13:21 UTC, the developer shipped three patches specifically chasing save-file and furniture-loss bugs. They do not all fix the same thing — this page matches your symptom to the patch that addresses it, quoting the developer’s own notes rather than guessing.
- Furniture/items gone after a dungeon
- Update to 1.1.3 (a safety net, not a guarantee)
- Save empty / stuck / corrupted
- Fixed in 1.1.2
- Physically stuck, not a save bug
- Use the Unstuck button (1.1.1)

Diagnose your bug first
Three different problems got patched within roughly 27 hours of each other, and they are easy to conflate because all three touch “your save.” Match your actual symptom to a row below before assuming you need the newest patch — the fix for one symptom does not cover the others.
| What you’re seeing | Patch that addresses it | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| House/shop furniture and items are gone after returning from a dungeon or the forest | 1.1.1 & 1.1.3 | Update to 1.1.3 or later. The developer frames this as a safety net, not a guaranteed fix — see below for exactly what it does and does not promise. |
| Save file is empty, won’t load, or is stuck on a “MainMenu” scene | 1.1.2 | Update to 1.1.2 or later — see below. |
| Shrine progress not saving | 1.1.2 | Update to 1.1.2 or later — see below. |
| Character is clipped out of bounds or physically trapped in level geometry | 1.1.1 | Not a save bug — use the in-game Unstuck button, see below. |
Furniture and items disappearing after a dungeon
This was targeted twice. Ver. 1.1.1 (Aug 29, 10:39 UTC) first went after the “House Wiping Bug” directly, but the developer could not reproduce it on their end:
“House Wiping Bug Fixed: Players should no longer experience the critical save file issue that cleared all the furniture and items in the house when coming back from a dungeon or the forest. (As we can’t replicate it, please let us know if it happens again; we hope it does not!)”
It did happen again for some players, which is why Ver. 1.1.3 (Aug 30, 13:21 UTC) shipped a second, more specific fix — this time framed as a safety net rather than a root-cause claim:
“Furniture Loss Prevention – Fixed the issue that caused furniture to disappear when returning from dungeons. This system now acts as a safety net—primarily for players upgrading from version 1.1.0 or lower—moving any previously lost items directly into your Construction Chest. If you still encounter any missing furniture, please let us know right away!”
Two things worth noting exactly as the developer wrote them: the safety net is described as applying primarily to players coming from 1.1.0 or earlier, and recovered items land in the Construction Chest rather than back in their original spot. The developer’s own wording is still an open invitation to report it again ("please let us know right away") — it is not presented as a guaranteed final fix.

Save file empty, stuck, or corrupted
Ver. 1.1.2 (Aug 30, 09:41 UTC) is the patch that targets a save file that will not load correctly at all, rather than one that loads but is missing furniture. The developer states this update repairs saves that were already affected, not only new ones going forward:
“Today we are rolling out Version 1.1.2, which introduces robust new systems designed not only to prevent save issues from happening but also to try to repair and recover saves that were previously affected!”
Four specific mechanisms are named in the patch notes:
| Mechanism | What the developer says it does |
|---|---|
| "MainMenu" Save File Fix | saves stored under the "MainMenu" scene are now automatically converted to the "Main" scene and load correctly. |
| Empty Save Recovery | empty saves now automatically fetch the last valid save data, allowing play to continue. |
| Corrupted Save Repair | an automatic repair system now replaces broken elements, restoring corrupted saves to a functional state. |
| Legacy Save Compatibility | saves from the demo or earlier game versions are automatically updated from the old logic to the new system. |
| Shrine Progress | progress made at Shrines now saves and loads reliably. |
Quoted and itemized from the Ver. 1.1.2 - SAVE FILE RECOVERY AND REPAIR (Aug 30, 09:41 UTC) Steam post. Read the full announcement. The developer does not describe any manual recovery steps beyond updating to this version — no separate save-editing or file-repair tool is mentioned.
Physically stuck? That's a different bug
Being clipped out of bounds or trapped in dungeon geometry is not a save-file problem, and updating alone will not get you unstuck in the moment — Ver. 1.1.1 added a button for exactly this:
“Unstuck Button: Added an ‘Unstuck’ button! If you ever find yourself clipped out of bounds or trapped, this will safely return you to the dungeon entrance.”
The same patch also added a temporary “Return to Village” option, which the developer flagged as a stopgap: “IT’S ONLY TEMPORARY TILL WE PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF THE DUNGEON GENERATOR ACTING WEIRD SOMETIMES.”

Making sure you're on a fixed version
None of these three fixes require anything beyond letting Steam update the game — the developer describes automatic conversion, recovery and repair systems that run as part of the patch itself, not a manual step a player performs. If Steam is set to auto-update and you have launched the game since Aug 30, 13:21 UTC, you are on the version that includes all three fixes above.
Save file questions, answered directly
My house/shop items and furniture disappeared after a dungeon run — how do I fix it?
Update to at least Ver. 1.1.3 (Aug 30, 13:21 UTC). The developer describes that patch's fix as a safety net "primarily for players upgrading from version 1.1.0 or lower," which moves previously lost items directly into your Construction Chest. The earlier Ver. 1.1.1 patch (Aug 29, 10:39 UTC) targeted the same "House Wiping Bug" but the developer could not reproduce it and asked players to report it again if it recurred — 1.1.3 is the more specific fix for this exact symptom.
My save file is empty, stuck on the main menu, or won't load at all — is that fixed?
Ver. 1.1.2 (Aug 30, 09:41 UTC) is the patch aimed at this. The developer states it adds four specific repairs: a "MainMenu" scene save fix, automatic recovery for empty saves, an automatic repair system for corrupted saves, and compatibility fixes for saves carried over from the demo or earlier versions. If you are still on an older build, updating is the documented fix — nothing beyond updating is described as a manual recovery step.
Can version 1.1.2 repair a save that was already broken before I updated?
That is what the developer says it does. The patch notes describe "Empty Save Recovery" and "Corrupted Save Repair" as systems that act on saves that were "previously affected," not only prevention going forward. This page quotes that claim rather than testing it against a deliberately corrupted save file — treat it as the developer's stated behavior, not independently verified here.
What does the Unstuck button do, and is it related to the save bugs?
No — it is a separate feature from the same patch. Ver. 1.1.1 (Aug 29, 10:39 UTC) added an Unstuck button that "safely returns the player to the dungeon entrance" if clipped out of bounds or trapped in geometry. That fixes a movement/collision problem, not a save-file problem; use it if you are physically stuck, not if your items are missing.
My Shrine progress isn't saving — which patch covers that?
Ver. 1.1.2 (Aug 30, 09:41 UTC). Its patch notes list "Shrine Progress" as one of the five fixes: progress made at Shrines now saves and loads reliably.
